Former EastEnders baddie Alex Ferns has landed a new soap role.
The actor is best known for playing evil Trevor Morgan who subjected his wife, Little Mo, to years of domestic abuse before he died in an explosion as a result of a house fire he set.
Trevor was one of the most hated men on British television during his years on the Walford-set soap, and it doesn’t look like that’s set to change any time soon as he’s playing another villain!
Alex will be joining the cast of Scottish Soap River City, with his screen debut coming up in March.

His character in River City will be called Rick Harper and is described as ‘a criminal with no moral code’.
He’s the illegitimate son of gangster Billy Kennedy who’s set to rival Lenny Murdoch with the intention of bringing down the bad boy.
Speaking to Digital Spy about his new role, Alex said:
“I’m excited about my character, Rick, he’s going to bring some heat!
“He’s old school. Definitely not afraid of anybody in any sense.
“I think he’s going to be quite charming and funny, but he can turn violent if he has to. Obviously, I’m nothing like that!”
The Scottish native also told how happy he is to be going back to his roots:
“I love being back in Scotland – I always feel better when I come back, more at home.
“It’s going to be great working on a show that’s Scottish, made for Scotland.”

Another recent addition to the River City cast is Blue member Simon Webbe.
And his band mate Lee Ryan has just been announced as the latest EastEnders bad boy, Woody Woodward.
Perhaps Alex can pass on some tips to Lee through Simon on how to cope with being Albert’s Square’s most hated!
