After Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell’s shock New Year’s Day double death in EastEnders, widower Jack Branning is set to discover the truth about what really happened – and it isn’t going to be pretty.
Fans have been left divided by the shocking demise of the sisters who died in a horror swimming pool accident following Ronnie’s wedding to Jack.
Roxy was the first to drunkenly take a midnight dip, but when she didn’t resurface, Ronnie – still in her wedding dress – jumped in to save her sister. But the weight of all that lace saw her unable to rescue Roxy or herself, and the pair both died.

Jack, meanwhile, was upstairs reading the kids a bedtime story, and he broke down when his brother Max and two police officers told him the news of his wife’s demise.
As grieving Jack has struggled to come to terms with the loss of his wife, viewers know Max is keeping something hidden from his sibling.
Aware Roxy was on drugs, Max snuck back into her hotel room and retrieved the cocaine before disposing of it, presumably so Jack would never find out the part it might have played in the sisters’ deaths.
But with a Coroner’s report due next week, the truth won’t stay hidden for long.
In the meantime, Jack’s trying his hardest to keep things as normal as possible for the kids, and he’s still insisting he’s moving to Ongar. He even makes Ricky and Amy start at their new school, determined to ensure their lives are disrupted as little as possible.
Ronnie and Roxy’s mum, Glenda, isn’t impressed with his attitude thinking it’s too much for the youngsters, and she’s proved right when they come home upset, leaving Jack feeling guilty.
With Glenda already unhappy about Jack’s behaviour, things are set to get even worse when the coroner’s report arrives.
EastEnders bosses aren’t revealing what the report says exactly, but the information leaves Jack in a complete rage.
When Glenda finds out what really killed her daughters, a furious row erupts between her and Jack. Will he discover she was also covering up Roxy’s habit?
Does the report show that Roxy’s drug taking caused it all? Or was something more sinister going on? And will recently released Max go back to prison for destroying evidence?
