It’s the week every Corrie fan has been waiting for… When murdering ratbag Pat Phelan gets his comeuppance after years of getting away with blackmail, murder and general villainy.
And speculation has been rife about HOW Pat gets it, WHEN (although we have a pretty good hunch it’s Friday) and by WHO.
Now Coronation Street stars Sue Cleaver (Eileen Grimshaw) and Nicola Thorp (Nicola Rubinstein) have hinted that Pat will be killed off by another Weatherfield resident…
And it could well be Eileen, determined to finish off the job!
Viewers know that Pat’s long-suffering wife pushed him off a cliff when she discovered the depths of his depravity.
Presuming he was lying in a watery grave, she came to terms with her actions.
So, how will she react when she discovers she didn’t actually kill him?
In upcoming scenes, Connor McIntyre’s character confronts Eileen and Nicola at number 11.
After a scuffle between them, a gunshot will ring out but it’s not known who will survive the incident.

Talking about the scenes and teasing that either Nicola OR Eileen could kill Pat, Nicola told the Daily Star: “[When Pat arrives at the door] I wanted Nicola to stay very calm on the surface.
“In this particular scene she’s just worried about the baby and I think she’s got that weird maternal thing that I believe happens when it comes to protecting your little ones, which is ‘I’m going to stay very, very calm and try and reason with him’.”
She goes on to say: “But there’s a couple of moments when she looks at the gun and you think ‘could she do it’. I think she’s thinking that as well.”
As for Eileen, Sue explains that her character won’t care about trying to kill Pat again.
She explains: “Eileen has already tried to kill him, she thought he was dead, she’s over it, in that moment all she’s thinking about is Nicola and that baby, like how the hell are we going to get out of this situation.
“He could say anything to her, it doesn’t matter.
“Eileen had the closure with Phelan in the harbour. I don’t feel that she hasn’t had any closure. She’s got no feeling left for him. She wanted him dead. She wants to get on with her life. And shut the door on it.”
Pat’s final scenes will play out on Thursday and Friday (31 May and 1 June), with viewers are bound to be glued to their seats…
Only one thing is for sure, as we head towards the dramatic showdown… Pat won’t go without a fight!
