Back in 2017, Elle was diagnosed with breast cancer. The Australian model also revealed that despite the advice of 32 doctors, she decided against undergoing chemotherapy.
She made the revelations during a recent interview with Women’s Weekly.
The model confessed she had been left in “shock” by the diagnosis. At the time, she underwent a lumpectomy – a removal of cancer tissue from the breast. She was then diagnosed with HER2-positive oestrogen-receptive intraductal carcinoma.
Doctors then advised the star to undergo a mastectomy, radiation, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, and a reconstruction of her breast.
At the time, Elle was dating an anti-vaxxer, and made the decision to against traditional medicine – instead opting to “trust” her body.

The star then went on to explain how she prayed and mediated on Miami Beach as she attempted to combat the disease with an “an intuitive, heart-led holistic approach”.
“Saying no to standard medical solutions was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. But saying no to my own inner sense would have been even harder,” she told the publication.
The model then went on to claim that having chemotherapy and surgery was “too extreme” for her.
She admitted that people thought she was “crazy” but her plan “resonated” with her.
During her battle, she went to Phoenix, Arizona for eight months. There, she was “holistically treated” while following guidance from her doctor, naturopathy, holistic dentist, osteopath, chiropractor and two therapists.
The model then went on to reveal that her two sons had different opinions on her approach to the disease.
She said that her youngest son, Cy, was fully behind her, arguing that chemotherapy would be the “kiss of death”. However, her eldest son, Flynn, “wasn’t comfortable” with her decision.
The father of her sons also wasn’t on board with Elle’s decision but was “proud” of the “courage” she was showing.
Elle’s diagnosis came four years after she received a cancer scare after she found a lump in her breast. However, it proved to be benign.
