Emily Atack calls out ‘hurtful’ troll who asks if she’s eating for two

Emily admitted she was hurt by the comments

Emily Atack has called out a troll who cruelly asked if she is eating for two.

The actress, 29, admitted she was upset after someone left the comment on a picture of her enjoying a walk with her boyfriend Rob Jowers last weekend. Emily said she had no idea the photos were being taken.

“Eating for two,” one comment said, while another read, “do love them a bit chunky”.

Alongside the grab, Emily wrote: “People say I shouldn’t give this attention. I’m trying to show this really happens on a daily basis to some people.

“This was after my boyfriend & I went for a walk on Sunday eve & I was unaware of photos being taken. ‘Just ignore it!’ No I won’t. It’s hurtful. And I’m [bleeped] off.”

On Instagram, she posted more vile comments from trolls and added the hashtag “stop trolling”.

One of her followers asked why she had scribbled the person’s name out, telling her to “show who is is the low life”.

However, Emily responded: “I was tempted but then I realised those people would then probably be trolled, which would then make me a hypocrite if I’m trying to stop trolling.

“I’m just showing the situation itself is now getting out of hand and has to be tamed in some way!”

In another response to a fan, who said the “state of discourse is so depressing right now”, she said “totally agree”.

Emily went on: “It’s all very well saying ‘just stay away from social media’ but realistically, we can’t!”

The actress said social media is part of her life and job now.

“Why should we be booted off social media when we aren’t the ones abusing the system!? Grr I’m angry today.”

Just the previous night Emily had pledged her support to Jesy Nelson after the Little Mix star spoke out about her suicide attempt after being bullied online.

Jesy, 28, revealed the bullying was so horrific she began to starve herself and at her lowest point, in 2013, she attempted to take her own life.

“Jesy Nelson’s ‘Odd One Out’ – show it in schools, tell your mates, watch it. Let’s knock this [bleep] on the head,” Emily urged.

Also standing by Jesy, Gemma Collins has been very vocal about putting a stop to online bullying.

The GC even demanded a complete social media boycott, passionately writing on Instagram earlier this week: “After seeing JESY NELSON nearly take her own life because of social media TROLLS ….

“To everyone that said horrible things on social media and to her especially you all would have had blood on your hands if anything would have happened to her!

“I do think everyone should BOYCOTT social media until these companies put a FIRM STANCE in place if you abuse or troll then you’re banned for LIFE …. social media could be amazing and so positive.”
