Emily Atack hits back after being criticised for new Blondie role

The actress has defended herself

Emily Atack has unveiled her transformation as she gears up to play music legend Debbie Harry, aka Blondie, and now she has hit back after being told she’s not good enough for the role!

The Inbetweeners actress shared a snap of her made-up as the star on Instagram and she looked incredible.

Emily rocked Blondie’s signature hairstyle and make-up for her new part in Sky Arts show Urban Myths.

The 29-year-old excitedly told her fans: “Wahhh! Beyond thrilled to be playing DEBBIE HARRY alongside an epic cast for Sky Arts next season of Urban Myths 💥⚡️ @skyarts.”

However, not everyone was impressed by the I’m A Celebrity star’s news.

One critic insisted she wasn’t up to the role and left Emily a rather harsh comment.

The troll wrote: “You’re not in her league🤮👎🏻👎🏻.”

But the star was quick to fire back after the nasty dig.

Seemingly having checked her hater’s account, Emily responded with: “What a horrible comment coming from a mother of 2. Shame on you.”

It also comes after I’m A Celeb’s Anne Hegerty defended her when a troll said Emily wasn’t ‘pretty enough’ to play Blondie.

Her sultry Debbie Harry pic is a far cry from her usual look and most fans loved it.

Many think she is a great fit to portray the iconic Call Me singer.

“Amazing. I reckon you will do her justice,” commented one of her fans.

Another added: “Love this and love Blondie ❤️ you look great Emily.”

Meanwhile her celeb pal, Made In Chelsea star Ashley James, wrote: “Amazing!!!!!”

Emily has often stood up for herself when it comes to online hate.

Last month, she slammed body shamers who told her she looked big in her dress at the BRIT Awards.

Emily tweeted after the event: “To all the lovely comments lots of you say to me, thank you from the bottom of my heart. To those who continue to call me fat.. have a wonderful evening, and then go and (expletive) yourself. All the best.”
