Emma Willis to help deliver babies in new TV series

She will spend three months training as a Maternity Care Assistant

Emma Willis has landed her dream job surrounded by babies!

The mum of three recently said delivering a child or watching a baby being born was on her bucket list – and now she’ll get to achieve that dream thanks to new TV show Emma Willis: Delivering Babies.

UKTV has ordered six episodes of a new documentary following the Celebrity Big Brother host as she trains as a Maternity Care Assistant.

Emma will spend three months working on a busy maternity ward, doing four shifts a week – both day and night – alongside the hospital’s nursing staff.

In her job as a Maternity Care Assistant, the television star will admit parents-to-be to the ward, take blood pressure, assist in theatre, and help out where needed in the birthing suites.

Emma said: “If I wasn’t doing my current job I know for a fact that I would have loved to work in a hospital.

“Blood, guts and the workings of the human body have always fascinated me. Both my parents worked in hospitals and so it’s literally in my blood.

“I can’t wait to dive right in and fully immerse myself in a busy maternity ward alongside the truly incredible midwives and nurses who work there day in day out.”

It’s certainly a dream come true for Emma, as just last month she told Daily Star’s TV Life how fascinating she finds the world of midwifery.

When asked what’s on her bucket list, she said: “I want to deliver a baby, or at least see a delivery. I think it would be incredible to witness. I missed mine because I was at the other end.

“I need my little sister to have a baby, really. I could be her birthing partner.”

Meanwhile, the TV star is busy this week: as well as continuing presenting The Voice, she’s taking over hosting duties on This Morning with Big Brother pal Rylan Clark-Neal.

They’re stepping in to cover for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield until Friday, while the pair enjoy an Easter break.
