Emmerdale fans cringe over Danny Miller’s remark to co-star Lucy Pargeter

He complimented her outfit from last night's NTAs

Emmerdale actor Danny Miller has left his fans cringing after calling his co-star Lucy Pargeter a “milf”.

Lucy, who plays Danny’s on-screen mum Chas Dingle in the soap, shared a snap to Twitter on Wednesday showing her stunning outfit at last night’s National Television Awards.

And Danny – who plays Aaron Dingle – was quick to compliment Lucy, but it seems his choice of word left fans feeling slightly “awkward”.

Lucy captioned her tweet: “What an amazing night at the @OfficialNTAs … thank you  #raquelbalenciaofficial for the loan of this beautiful dress and @scottbeswick for my make up and all you lovely people for voting.”

Danny, 27, simply replied: “#MILF.”

Many fans were left in hysterics over Danny’s remark while others were left cringing.

One person said: “Danny…” followed by a meme which said “too far man”.

Another wrote: “Awkward…” while a third tweeted a meme which said: “Ewwwww.”

Lucy and Danny play on-screen mother and son in the soap.

During Tuesday night’s ceremony of the NTAs, Emmerdale coveted the Serial Drama Performance award.

The ITV soap beat off competition from rivals Coronation Street, EastEnders and Hollyoaks to scoop the prestigious accolade at London’s The O2, with a large number of cast members getting on stage to accept the award.

Speaking on their behalf, actress Isabel Hodgins – who plays Victoria Sugden – said: “Thank you so, so much to everyone who voted, Emmerdale is an amazing place to work and it’s full of such hardworking people.

“Thanks so much to the audience because we wouldn’t have a show without you, your support is incredible and this is an amazing way to start 2019 and it means the world, so thank you so much.”

Shortly after their win, Danny tweeted: “Get in!! #Emmerdale #NTAs.”
