It’s only a matter of months before actress Charley Webb goes on maternity leave, leaving her Emmerdale character Debbie Dingle behind.
And fans of the ITV soap already think they know how she departs…

While the soap has kept characteristically quiet about Debbie’s exit storyline, viewers know it’s bound to be explosive.
She’ll leave with a bang, that’s for sure.
Charley’s pregnancy was announced around the same time that Emmerdale viewers were delivered some shocking news – Joe Tate is alive and has been hiding out in Monte Carlo with help from Graham Foster.

Joe, played by actor Ned Porteous, was previously thought to be dead after being ‘killed off’ in October.
Now ITV viewers believe Debbie is set to discover the truth about Joe’s whereabouts and leave the Dales to find him.
One fan announced: “I’m telling y’all, Debbie will conveniently not care about Sarah’s health again, dump the kids with family, and go chasing after Joe.
“He’ll then be killed in a freak yachting accident on the French Riviera and she’ll come back #Emmerdale.”
Another said: “At one point, Debbie will meet up again with Joe. So I expect a FULL apology to Cain, Debbie, you miserable cow. #Emmerdale.”
A third added: “Anyone else think Joe is only alive to give Debbie a storyline so she can go on maternity? So will be interesting to see how he manages to talk Debbie round considering he allowed her to believe he was dead at the hands of her dad #Emmerdale.”
“Charley Webb is pregnant and Joe Tate has been revealed alive…” deduced another. “Debbie will disappear to find him (and have her child in real life) then return next year with Joe by her side… Surprise Charity and Cain by already being married… Why haven’t @emmerdale hired me as a writer yet?!”

While Debbie’s life has hit rock bottom after being jilted at the altar and abandoned by her fiancé, in real life actress Charley couldn’t be happier.
She and husband Matthew Wolfenden, who stars as David Metcalfe on the ITV soap, recently confirmed they are expecting their third child.
They already have two boys, eight-year-old Buster and Bowie, three.
The soap star duo have been in a relationship since 2007, after they met on the set of Emmerdale.
They announced they were expected their third bub on Instagram last month, by sharing a photo of the family holding a lightbox that read “Buster, Bowie And…” with a blank space for a third name.
Fans rushed to congratulate the couple, with one writing “wonderful news” and another replying: “How lovely!”
A third wrote “Wishing you all health and happiness” while another excited follower commented: “OMG WOHOOO.”
