As soon as the mystery woman hiding in the Dingles’ barn on Emmerdale was revealed as Chas and Cain’s mum, Faith, we knew there was trouble afoot.
Rumours of an affair with old-flame Zac Dingle quickly surfaced as his relationship with Lisa already hangs by a thread.
And we all know Faith’s relationship with her kids is non-existent. So just what is she in town for?

Sally Dexter, who plays Faith, spoke to Digital Spy about her character’s motives – and revealed they are, in fact, honourable.
“Faith saw the fundraising page that was online for Sarah. She’s also had a bit of a health scare herself, which has put her life into perspective.
“She’s come to the village because she wants to see her family again. She wants to touch roots.”
In her first episodes last week, Faith announced she was the mystery donor who’d given £20,000 to Sarah’s fund that’s raising money for her cancer treatment.
Debbie immediately welcomed her with open arms and insisted the rest of the family do the same. But Chas and Cain were reluctant to believe their mum was genuine.
Viewers were also unconvinced, but Sally insists her alter ego really does want to help.
“She’ll do everything she can possibly think of to help Sarah.
“Some of the things will perhaps not be appropriate, but she does them anyway!”
Sounds like a true Dingle to us!

But she did reveal to the website that Faith is “mischievous” and “a little bit naughty”, but “not nasty”.
We reckon she’ll be just the addition the village needs to spice things up.
With plenty of Dingle drama ahead with the Robron wedding soon to hit screens, we can’t wait to see what Faith brings to the mix.
