Charity Dingle faces an agonising search to find out what happened to her baby boy in this week’s Emmerdale.
Charity is upset when Harriet brings up the subject of her dead son, and Vanessa overhears.
As Charity goes back over the time when she was being abused by evil copper DI Bails, viewers will see flashbacks that will shed some light on what happened when she discovered she was pregnant.
The scenes are bound to be emotional as Charity relives the trauma of being an exploited 14-year-old girl.
Newcomer Mica Proctor plays 14-year-old Charity in the flashbacks, as Charity loses herself in her bad memories.
And Emma Atkins, who plays grown-up Charity, has revealed she uses her own personal experiences to make Charity’s torment feel real.
“I think you always need to come back to the story, and never wander too far into any personal emotion,” Emma warned at a recent Emmerdale press day.

“But I can pick things that have happened in my past, which I won’t go into because it’s so personal, but loss…
“You only have to have an image in your mind of when somebody passes away or whatever and it can instantly make you feel a certain kind of emotion.”
When Vanessa overhears the conversation between Harriet and Charity, kind-hearted Harriet reveals all to Charity’s girlfriend in the hope that Vanessa can help.
