Fiona Wade has revealed she is planning to marry in October.
The Emmerdale actress was in “floods of tears” when Simon Cotton proposed to her at her family home in Hertfordshire, south east England, and the happy couple are hoping to tie the knot in the autumn because they “don’t see the point in waiting around”.
She told OK! magazine: “The proposal was perfect. It’s the home I grew up in and I still live there with my mum when I’m not filming. It’s the most special place in the world to me.

“We’ve just started looking at venues. We need to move quickly as we’re hoping to get married in October. I don’t see the point in waiting around, and in my faith people get married quite quickly.”
Simon – who appeared on the hit soap briefly in August 2017 when he played Home Farm estate client Hugh Bryant – revealed he asked the 39-year-old soap star’s permission before popping the question because he wanted to follow the customs of the Bahá’í religion.
He said: “In the Bahá’í religion it’s important to ask permission from both parents. I asked her mum, who was very excited, and I also went to visit her dad’s grave to ask him, too…”
The brunette beauty – who has played Priya Sharma in Emmerdale since 2011 – is currently wearing her mother’s engagement ring while she waits for her own ring to be completed.
The smitten bride-to-be also admitted meeting Simon has made her “want to have children”.

Fiona announced she was engaged in an Instagram post last month.
She shared a snap of herself and Simon sharing an embrace.

The star wrote: “Two days ago this beautiful man asked me to be his wife. There has never been an easier answer to a question…. Yes!
