Emmerdale star Gemma Atkinson has taken to Instagram to reveal her upset and anger at people who constantly question her relationship status.
She’s pretty fed up about always being asked why she’s still single at 32, and in a candid post she expressed her frustration.
Her lengthy outpouring accompanied an image with the words:
“Not every girl wants to be in a relationship, some just want good company, a guy to vibe with, converse & laugh with.”
Alongside the picture the exasperated actress wrote:
“If one more person reminds me of ‘clocks ticking at your age’ or ‘you should look at settling down soon’, I will flip.
“Why do we drill into people that marriage is the main key to success in life?”
She went on to say she wanted to “break the mould and do what makes us happy, not what we feel pressured into by society”.

The fitness fanatic also stated it should be “your inner happiness or drive to smash your career goals or work on yourself” that defines us.
And she made it clear she believes it’s only right to “settle down and have a family and a partner when you feel ready to [sic] and not just because you’ve hit 30”.
Good on you, Gem!
On screen, her character Carly Hope is all loved up with Marlon Dingle, but off it, Gemma has been single since splitting from her boyfriend of two years, Olly Foster, last summer.
Speaking to The Sunday People at the time, she said:
“Sometimes there are people in your life and it’s just not working out the way you thought.
“I’m happily single. I’ve got the dogs and lots going on professionally. It’s nice to be on my own for a bit.”
