Week in week out we keep reading about celebs who give birth to bonny bouncing babies.
And most of the time the stories are all the same. “My waters broke. I pushed and voila – my baba was born!”
Which makes for a very boring read, no?
But Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter has a story so full of drama, you’d swear you were watching an episode of her soap!
The 40-year-old actress, who plays Chas Dingle in the soap, gave birth to two gorgeous twin girls Missy and Betsy last month and has unveiled them in this week’s OK!
But while she and boyfriend Rudi are all smiles in the pics, they couple told the magazine that they were terrified when they were told their twins weren’t breathing.

“They got handed over to the medical team straight away after they were born and they were manipulated to make sure their airways were clear,” Rudi said of the scare.
“The process was probably only about 30 seconds to a minute but it felt like ten minutes! Thankfully everything was fine.”
But that wasn’t all. As the tiny mites were being scooped out, one of the babies got caught up on the way out.
“Betsy had the umbilical cord around her neck, which a worrying,” Lucy explained. “But the doctors dealt with it swiftly. The babies didn’t need oxygen or any assistance although they didn’t cry at first which was quite worrying.”
Ex-footballer Rudi added: “The cord looked quite tight which was scary but the surgeon had it in hand and dealt with it quickly.”
Lucy also revealed she had had the babies via a planned Caesarean which she was initially quite anxious about – but not for the reason you might think.
“It was a planned Caesarean as the girls were both breech. I got to 37 weeks – which is when they usually want to take out twins,” she said.
“I was nervous because a lot of people had said the recovery afterwards was tough, what with being immobile.
“I was more nervous about that than the operation, which I was quite excited about because I don’t mind a bit of gore.
She added: “I wanted to watch the whole thing but they put a screen up when you’re having a C-section and it couldn’t be lowered quite enough for me to see.”
“I was gutted I didn’t get to watch them being born. You feel everything with a natural birth and I couldn’t with a C-section, so I would’ve liked to watch it.”

Meanwhile Lucy says she plans to return to Emmerdale in September. “I’m really enjoying having time with the girls.
“I don’t think I could take a year off financially or mentally as work is a massive part of my life.”
