The new era in Albert Square has got off to a cracking start as two big surprises had viewers going crazy on social media.
First up was the return of Masood Ahmed (Nitin Ganatra) who made an unexpected return to personally deliver Carmel Kazemi’s notice of eviction.

As if that wasn’t awkward enough, Mas made his big comeback when Carmel was expecting Max Branning over for a meal and some afternoon delight.
She was dressed for the part – in a lacy basque and suspenders – giving Masood quite an eye full when he let himself in through the back door (minds out of the gutters please.)
Fans were thrilled to see him return to the Square.
Meanwhile there was an unexpected departure too as Vic bar manager, Woody (Lee Ryan), set off for his new job in Spain – but without Whitney in tow.
The couple were supposed to be heading off to Malaga together for a fresh start but an almighty row left their plans hanging in the air after Woody told Whit he’d likely be going out with his friends a few times a week.
Whitney was worried she’d be left in a foreign country with no friends. Mick and Linda stepped in to offer them some couple’s counselling and it looked like the plan was back on track.
But when Whit was left waiting at the tube station, she began to suspect something was wrong.
She then spotted a handwritten note from Woody stuffed into a window frame telling her she’d be better off in Walford. Not even the courtesy of a text message. Charming!
Fans were pretty confused as to whether this is the last we’ll see of Woody.
But others were fuming at the fact he’d left Whitney behind.

This is the second time this year that Whitney’s been dumped by a note. When her ex-husband Lee ran out on her on Valentine’s Day, he left her a note too.
Will Mick be there to pick up the pieces this time though?
