Shakil Kazemi died in a heartbreaking episode of EastEnders last night, after being stabbed.
His brother Kush, and his fiancee Denise, were at the hospital, and mum Carmel arrived just as the doctor broke the tragic news.
Carmel was – not surprisingly – grief-stricken.
“Stop saying he’s dead,” she told Kush. “They got it wrong.”
She even fled the hospital, before Denise, and Max, persuaded her to come back.
It wasn’t easy to watch her grieving for her boy, especially when she said “night, night” to her “baby”.
But the fans were united in taking to social media to praise the performance of Bonnie Langford, who plays broken Carmel.
“Carmel was amazing,” wrote one fan. “Carmel’s reaction to seeing Shaki’s body absolutely broke my heart,” added another.
“Carmel is such a good actress,” said another upset fan.

“Amazing performance,” another fan pointed out. “Carmel’s grief was so real it hurt.”
And many fans agreed Bonnie Langford deserves an award for her heartbreaking performance.
“Carmel needs to win an award for this acting,” wrote one. “Carmel deserves an award or a million,” said another.
