A ‘comedy’ moment in last night’s EastEnders left viewers cringing rather than cracked up as Josh Hemmings made a saucy comment to Lauren Branning in front of some nuns.

After months of flirting and yearning looks across the office, Lauren and Josh finally got the chance to get down and dirty as Josh booked a romantic day, followed by night in a hotel.
First they visited London Zoo, but instead of heading for the posh lunch Josh had planned, Lauren asked if they could skip it and go straight to the hotel.
Josh’s eyes lit up as he agreed, adding: “I can’t wait to get you naked” to the horror of a group of nuns sitting opposite the randy pair on the tube.
The nuns tutted, Lauren and Josh giggled and the rest of the UK did a collective cringe at the awkward moment.
Many fans took their by proxy embarrassment to Twitter
One viewer tweeted: “Josh just said the most cringe thing to Lauren on the train”
While another commented: “CRINGE ALERT! CRINGE ALERT! CAN’T WAIT TO GET YOU NAKED!”
And a third simply wrote: “Omgggggg cringe at EastEnders”
But not everyone was hating on the saucy comment, at least one fan was just relieved that – after all this time – the couple were getting round to doing it.
Sticking with the religious theme, the viewer wrote: “Hallelujah!”

Elsewhere on the Square, fans were left reeling after Josh’s half brother, Luke Browning, savagely attacked Ben Mitchell in the Arches as Ben questioned him about project Dagmar.
Luke grabbed Ben by the throat and choked him before letting him go and ending their relationship.
