EastEnders fans are fearing for the lives of both Jane Beale and Johnny Carter after a shocking episode that followed this week’s devastating explosion.
While Monday’s disaster at the Walford In Bloom event resulted in serious injuries, some unexpected events in the aftermath left other lives hanging in the balance.
Viewers saw a paranoid Ted Murray pull out a gun as he suspected that somebody might be deliberately behind the explosion, opening fire when a mystery person knocked on the door.

Tuesday’s episode closed as the figure fell through the door and onto the floor, leaving fans watching at home to suspect who it was.
One horrified viewer Tweeted: “He freaking shot Johnny!!! No EastEnders!! #EastEnders” while another posted: “Looked like Johnny that got shot.”
Meanwhile, ongoing tensions between Jane and Steven Beale came to a head as Aaron Sidwell’s character wrestled his stepmother (Laurie Brett) to the floor.
Ignoring her tears, pleas and warnings that the expecting father would go to jail, he doused her in alcohol before setting it alight.
While her words failed to pull on Steven’s heartstrings, some viewers were brought to tears by the scene.
“Watching Steven hurt Jane and honestly crying,” posted one, as another hopefully added: “Wow #Eastenders I hope someone rescues Jane!”
