Last night’s Corrie saw Carla and Aidan Connor go under the surgeon’s knife as Aidan donated a kidney to his half-sister to save her life.
Huge sighs of relief were breathed when both characters came through the life-saving op with no complications, following fan worries that Aidan could die.

Carla has been suffering from kidney disease since she returned to the cobbles at Christmas, at first only confiding in her close friend Roy Cropper that she was dangerously ill.
The truth came out last week when the former factory boss collapsed in the Rovers, before being rushed to hospital where she was told her kidney function had fallen to dangerously low levels.
Luckily Aidan proved to be a suitable match and he bravely stepped up to offer up one if his kidneys.
The rest of the Connor clan were delighted when the op was a success and both Aidan and Carla were wheeled up from theatre.
But there was something odd that viewers spotted – and just couldn’t get out of their heads.
Carla went into theatre with a face-full of make-up and came out looking even more glam than when she went down.
Even Carla’s half-sister Kate commented on how ‘stunning’ she looked after her life saving op, and Roy referred to her as ‘glowing.’
Fans hit up social media with their observations about Carla’s amazing make-up.
“Ah that’s right Carla – full make-up for your trip to surgery,” tweeted one fan, complete with a face-palm emoji.
Another wondered: “Would Carla be going in to surgery with a face full of make-up?”
And a third quipped: “Think you need to lose the make up pre op Carla!”
Poor Aidan didn’t seem to be faring quite so well however, leaving viewers confused when he burst into tears after being left alone in his room.
