EastEnders fans love that Sharon has the heist money

But is this really the end of the heist money saga?

| Updated:

Thank goodness for that – after all these weeks of wondering where that missing heist money is in EastEnders, the truth has finally been revealed.

And while pretty much everyone is glad the mystery has been solved – fans have taken to Twitter to praise the show’s writes – thrilled that it’s Sharon Mitchell who had the cash all along!

Ever since the cash that was stolen during Aidan Maguire’s New Year’s Day robbery went missing from Ben Mitchell’s suitcase, viewers have been left scratching their heads, wondering who could have taken it.

While the prime suspect has been Mick Carter all this time – particularly after he suddenly got the cash to buy back the freehold of The Vic, viewers know that he wasn’t the one with cash stuffed under his mattress.

Mel Owen has also had an invested interest in finding that money – desperate to see her son, Hunter, again she has been trying to track down the cash.

But last night’s visit to Walford saw Mel sniffing around Sharon’s house after overhearing an incriminating conversation between her and husband Phil Mitchell.

Convinced that Phil has been hiding the cash all this time, Mel appealed to Sharon’s motherly instincts, hoping it might lead her to reveal Phil’s secret.

Little did Mel know, she was already talking to the one holding all the money!

Viewers loved that fact it was Sharon, who took the money right from under the men’s noses…

But not everyone was convinced by the storyline. Some fans thought the whole thing was far too predictable…

While others thought that Sharon having the cash was a double bluff and that she’s actually covering for someone…

But if Sharon doesn’t have the money – then that means this whole heist cash storyline isn’t over like we thought. Please don’t say it’s so!

The big question is, will Mel tell Aidan and co what she’s found out?

We know that Mel is set to be reunited with her son, Hunter next week – so does this mean she manages to persuade Sharon to hand over the money?
