Fans are offering their love and support to Carol Vorderman who’s currently coping with the reality that her beloved mother has terminal cancer.
The TV presenter, 56, shared a beautiful and moving picture of herself with her mum on Twitter this week.

They can be seen smiling through their sadness at the camera, holding one another tenderly.
Carol heralded her strength, describing it as “a good day”. Anybody who knows the fight against cancer will be well aware of the ups and downs.
88-year-old Jean, who gave Carol the same middle name, is seen looking as twinkly-eyed as her daughter as she smiles to the camera in pink pyjamas.
It’s a picture of true strength in the face of loss and heartbreak and one that will touch anybody’s heart, especially those touched by such a cruel disease.
Carol tweeted: “Breakfast with Mum this morning……she’s saying hello to the world xx”.
The bad news about Jean was shared by Carol on Mother’s Day, explaining that her mum was terminal with cancer.
She posted: “A precious Mother’s Day x This wk Mum & I found out she has terminal cancer.She’sbeautiful inside and out & I love her beyond measure x”
Fans immediately raced to support Carol, sending fond wishes and messages of strength to the Countdown and I’m a Celeb’ star.
One simply posted: “Thinking of you all x”
Carol has responded to them all, clearly feeling very moved by the love of her followers.
Another added: “keep her close and spend has much time with her hun I did never regretted every moment with my mum” [sic]
Each of them received a kiss as thanks from Carol to say thank you for taking the time to show love.
It’s not the first time Jean has faced the disease. She’s already faced kidney, skin and ovarian cancer.

In July 2015 Carol wrote: “Mum having 3rd cancer op today but this op is minor compared to the previous ones thankfully.
“Mum has had a 3lb ovarian tumour removed (miraculously it hadn’t spread).
Jean famously sent off Carol’s application for a job on new Channel 4 game show Countdown back in 1982.
