TV favourite Scarlett Moffatt took to Instagram to deliver an important message after her night at the LGBT Awards in London.

“It got me thinking, actually, that I hope one day these awards aren’t necessary, because everyone is just seen as equal. Because why does it matter who you love, how you dress, what you want to do in your spare time, and what you want to do with your life?
“All that should matter in life is how you treat other people – being kind and being happy. Because at the end of the day that’s all that matters.”
Looking straight into the camera and seeming frustrated, Scarlett, 28, added, “I just hope that one day, all of this ignorance goes away, and we love each other for who we are. That’s my thoughts anyway.”
Fans were quick to praise the down-to-earth star, calling her an ‘inspiration’.
“Couldn’t agree more. So lucky to hear you and that you are such a great, positive, kind role model and voice,” commented one follower.
“I love you! You are such an inspiration to a lot of people and we shouldn’t need to come out or have special awards,” added another.
“Well said my lovely, right on. I totally agree. You’re such a beautiful girl inside and out,” a follower agreed.
One admirer also, quite rightly, told Scarlett there was no need to apologise for the way she looked on camera.
“No excuses needed re hair and make-up, you looked lovely and natural,” they said, and plenty more were quick to concur.
“You have such a pretty face, you don’t need make-up!” yet another follower added.
The post is Scarlett’s second this week in which she’s gone make-up free, earlier showing off what she called her ‘freckle head’.
Scarlett looked gorgeous at the awards, held in London, opting to dress more casually in a quirky, printed silk-shirt paired with jeans and red lippie.
And despite her on-off boyfriend Lee Wilkinson reportedly being spotted in the Saturday Night Takeaway’s star’s driveway the following morning, Scarlett chose to take her ‘mamma bear’, Betty Moffatt, as her date to the lavish do.
Uploading pictures of the night to her Instagram stories, Scarlett appeared to have a great time posing with cute chihuahua ‘Dolly Pawton’ and celebrating the arrival of her BAFTA tickets.
The TV star has a busy few weeks ahead, as she prepares to cover Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding for BBC Radio 1 next weekend.
