Hollyoaks viewers were left stunned last night as two characters were killed off as the aftermath of the huge gas explosion at the school continued to play out.
Regulars Neeta Kaur (Amrit Maghera) and Frankie Osborne (Helen Pearson) both bowed out of the show as the dramatic effects of the disaster continued to unfold.

Neeta was killed off at the hands of her abusive partner, Mac Nightingale, as he let her fall to her death following the explosion that he caused.
As viewers know, Mac was in a vengeful mood after discovering teaching assistant Neeta had been having an illegal relationship with student Hunter McQueen.
And now she’s paid the ultimate price.
Amrit spoke out about her two years on the show saying: “I have honestly loved my two years at Hollyoaks and feel so lucky to have been cast as Neeta.
“After joining with the wonderful Nightingale family, going head-to-head with Mac, getting the opportunity to film in Ibiza and telling the story of Neeta and Hunter, I am so grateful to everyone involved.
“Thank you to Bryan Kirkwood for his support and belief in me, as well as the entire production team, crew, cast and every department for making me feel truly welcome and making me laugh every day.
“Also to bow out during such fantastic episodes this week has been an honour. I feel very proud to have been part of this show. Thank you to all the fans for your constant support and hopefully Mac will get his comeuppance…”
The big surprise was the death of Oaks’ veteran, Frankie Osborne, who has been a regular on the show for 15 years – lasting longer than any of the original Dean family she joined with.
Frankie suffered a stroke at home, while the rest of her family were all caught up in the explosion drama.
Helen said of her exit: “After 15 years, I’m sad to have left all of my friends from the show, but I’m also excited about the future.
“It’s a difficult decision to leave and to find the right time for that, but I was really excited to go as part of this week’s big episodes and the timing seemed perfect.
“When you’ve been part of the show for so long, you spend more time with your fictional family than your real one sometimes. I’m sure we will keep in touch, even if you don’t see each other for months on end, you can meet up and it’s like no time has passed at all.”
Fans took to Twitter to air their sorrow and anger at the two deaths.
There was a lot of anger directed towards Mac.
One viewer wrote: “Mac you murderer! #theyallfalldown.”
Another added: “I hate Mac so much. He will have to pay for everything.”
While a third- very cross fan – said: “Flaming scum Mac that’s two people he let die should of been him who dropped because he caused it!”
Don’t worry, soap fans, the Soap Gods always get their revenge.
Meanwhile, Frankie’s death was met with sadness by the viewers.
One tweeted: “OMG Hollyoaks, what have you done to me? Sobbed my heart out at that whole episode.”
Another agreed saying: “Nooo not Frankie, I never in a million years thought it would be her. But now she’s with her daughter.”
And another wrote: “Emotional didn’t even cover that, devastating news about Frankie.”
