The explosive secrets from Charity Dingle’s past just keep on coming, with yet another shock twist delivered to soap fans last night.
Just weeks ago, we learnt that Charity had given birth to a secret son when she was only 14 years old.
She believed the son, conceived during a time when she was being habitually raped by DI Bails and his vile accomplices, had died just after childbirth due to complications.
During Charity’s flashback episode aired on Tuesday (29 May), viewers learnt the shocking bombshell that the son had actually survived.
Last night (Wednesday 30 May), Emmerdale delivered yet another twist… Not only had the baby survived, but he had been adopted by the hospital midwife!

When Charity fled from the maternity ward believing her son to be dead, the little tot had had no one to care for him.
Knowing that her son’s DNA could be the only way of bringing DI Bails to justice, Charity agreed to pluck up the courage to investigate the fate of her son.
Backed by girlfriend Vanessa Woodfield and vicar Harriet Finch, Charity attempted to track down the midwife who helped her give birth.

However, the staff member on duty – Irene Stocks – denied all knowledge of the baby and Charity.
But she was lying!
While Charity believed she’d hit a dead-end, we later saw Irene staring at an adoption certificate for a boy named Ryan Stocks.
And this wasn’t the only explosive moment in the half-hour episode.
DI Bails also turned up at the hospital with his pregnant wife, provoking Charity into telling him about her secret son – and her determination to bring him to justice.
However, fans thought this was a BIG mistake – as she’s now put her son in potential danger.
Many more fans were furious with midwife Irene for lying.

I bet that nurse has messed with the records!
if a baby had been abandoned surely, it would have been all over the news+Charity would of seen it
The nurse probably called the police.. Bails attended knew it was Charity and paid the nurse to keep the child herself?? #Emmerdale

Another said: “It nice that Irene adopted Charity’s son but lying makes me hate her, should of told the truth. Lying baby snatching cow.”
A third wrote: “I don’t think Charity should have told Bails about the baby.”
Ryan Stocks is set to turn up in Emmerdale next week and will come face-to-face with his biological mum.
Actor James Moore has been cast as Charity’s 27-year-old “feisty and reckless” son, who has Ataxic Cerebral Palsy.
