Did you spot it?

Hollyoaks fans were given a special celebrity treat last night, when a VIP made a surprise cameo.

One viewer even “spat their tea out” to see comedian and TV chat show host Alan Carr making an appearance on the C4 soap.

Bemused TV watchers saw Alan appear in the background with his real-life pet pooches Joyce and Bev – just as Yazz confronted Diane and Tony.

The popular television star just happened to be walking by when Jazz pulled Tony and Diane up about their complaint against Misbah.

Naturally, Alan couldn’t help but lean in for an earwig – and lingered a bit too long.

However, when the trio caught him listening, Yazz threw Alan a very dirty look and nosey Alan quickly walked away again, without saying a single word.

Hang on, was THAT it?

In a short film posted on Hollyoaks’ official Twitter account, Alan Carr gives fans an insider account of the short scene, explaining: “I’m doing coverage of Crufts with Clare Balding and we’re doing different doggy themes, and we’re trying to make Bev and Joyce stars.”

After giving us a snapshot of the scene, Alan told Hollyoaks star Ashley Taylor Dawson: “Bev had a fur ball. I’m just relieved she didn’t have a poo.
