Danny Dyer looked unimpressed as Phillip Schofield make a joke about him during last night’s British Soap Awards.
Host Phil was introducing members of the audience and decided to crack a joke at EastEnders’ actor Danny’s expense at The Lowry Theatre in Manchester.
After speaking to Jack P Shepherd about his character David Platt‘s barbershop Trim Up North, Phil said: “We’ve also been joined by EastEnders’ Danny Dyer, who I’m told is a big fan of the Trim Down South.”

As the camera turned to Danny sitting in the audience, the star – who plays Mick Carter in the soap – didn’t too look impressed.
Danny failed to respond and Phil laughed as Danny turned to the person sitting next to him, seemingly ignoring the host.
Viewers watching from home were amused by the awkward exchange.
One person wrote on Twitter: “Don’t think Danny Dyer found @Schofe very funny on the @SoapAwards #SoapAwards #soapawards2019 the look of disgust on his face!! Priceless.”

During the awards ceremony last night, Danny earned a nod for best actor but the gong went to Hollyoaks actor Gregory Finnegan.
As patriarch Mick Carter, Dyer has become one of the BBC show’s best-loved characters and saw a recent profile boost after his daughter Dani found fame on Love Island.

The six part series has been described as “the ultimate combination of strategy, knowledge and luck”.
In a statement released by the BBC, Danny said: “I’d never had a desire to host a gameshow before I saw this game.
“I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to help win the public some serious life-changing readies. I love it.”
