After Gareth Gates denied their split was caused by his “controlling behaviour”, Coronation Street star Faye Brookes has broken her silence.
The actress took to Twitter to respond to allegations that she already has a new boyfriend after she was seen leaving the gym with a mystery man.
Revealing that she’d had a “really weird” week following the end of her engagement, Faye said she’d been throwing herself into the gym.
She also pleaded: “Just let a girl be please.”
Faye said: “It’s been a really weird week… I’ve been throwing myself into the gym pretty much every day, anyone who knows me knows how much I love training and keeping fit!”
She added that she finds exercise “great for your physical and mental health”.

Faye continued: “So there was a pap outside the gym when I got there, taking pictures of me & getting very excited with his camera because I walked in with one of the trainers from the gym – who is a friend.”

Clearly aware that rumours would surface that he was her new boyfriend, Faye clarified: “I imagine that suggestions could be made from these pics that there is more to this. There isn’t.”

Gareth and Faye had a seven-year on/off relationship and got engaged in January. He has reportedly asked the actress for her £30k engagement ring back.
Fans were quick to comment on the post, with some slamming the Corrie star for courting the paparazzi during a post-split night out, while others leapt to the actress’s defence.
