TOWIE star Ferne McCann has unwittingly been caught up in one of the most shocking stories of the year.
On Monday her ex-partner and father of her child, Arthur Collins, was found guilty of five counts of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm after his involvement in an acid attack.
It took place in April this year at a nightclub called Mangle in London, where around 20 people were injured after acid was thrown across the dancefloor.
And now Ferne has released a short statement via her agent, which reads: “Ferne’s thoughts are of course with the innocent people caught up in the events at Mangle last April. No one should ever be faced with violence on a night out.
“Having given birth days ago, Ferne is focusing on being the best mother she can be. She long ago accepted that she would be doing this alone and is determined to provide the best possible future for her daughter.”

Ferne welcomed her baby, named Sunday, on November 2nd (not a Sunday…).
Just weeks before the acid attack, Ferne had gushed to OK Magazine about marrying Arthur.
But now the reality star says she’ll raise her baby alone.
Arthur’s sentencing date has been set for December 19th, and many of the victims who were there that night have come forward to blast him as “cowardly” on television.
Some victims, who suffered varying degrees of burns, have put forward plans to sue the east London nightclub for negligence in allowing acid inside.

Ayesha Nayyar, solicitor for two of them – Sophie Hall and Lauren Trent – said the club’s entry checks were “grossly inadequate”. She told the Mirror: “A bottle of acid should never have made it in.”
