The ex-lover of TOWIE and I’m A Celebrity star Ferne McCann has been sentenced to 25 years in prison over an horrific acid attack in London.
Arthur Collins threw the corrosive substance at clubbers in Mangle E8 in Dalston on April 17.
The 25-year-old admitted throwing the liquid but had claimed he believed it was a date rape drug.
He was sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court to 20 years in prison with an extra five years on licence.
Last month he was found guilty of five counts of GBH with intent, and nine counts of ABH.
Sentencing Collins, Judge Noel Lucas QC described the crime as a “despicable act”.
He said: “His defence from first to last was carefully researched and choreographed in order to explain away the evidence against him.”
He added that Collins was “an accomplished and calculating liar” who has not “demonstrated the slightest remorse”, before sentencing him for 20 years with an extended five years on licence.
Collins’ lawyer George Carter-Stephenson QC had argued the incident at Mangle E8 had developed “very rapidly”, adding: “It’s a stupid, thoughtless reaction, and one which Mr Collins now bitterly regrets”.
Collins described his actions as a “stupid little mistake”, with his lawyer saying he “feels as if the entire world has turned against him”.
