But now the most famous cobbles on telly (actually, are there any others?!) are about to be invaded by a global superstar who is planning to wreck the joint.

According to reports, Will.i.am is heading to Weatherfield to shoot a video for his new song Fiyah .

LA, New York, London and Paris must have been fully booked.

For some reason the wacky Voice coach has decided he wants the country’s most favourite fake street to act as a backdrop to his sassy sounds.

The big budget video is set to see iconic buildings such as The Rovers Return turned upside down as explosions and fire sweeps through the street.

The music maker apparently fell in love with the set when he visited it recently while doing promo for The Voice.

“He fell in love with Corrie when he visited the set filming The Voice’s auditions in Salford,” a show source has revealed.

“After much persuading of producers, and the seal of approval from Corrie veteran Beverley Callard, he wangled his way on to the set.

“It’s going to be chaos — loads of special effects on the cobbles and in the pub. Will wants as much fire and explosion as the set can handle.

“They are even booting out the actors and crew early from filming so Will’s 20 dancers can rehearse. Corrie producers are hoping the Street comes out of it unscathed.”

According to insiders, Will is throwing everything at the video and has flown in his video director from LA and will also be joined on set by his final three acts from The Voice, Jason Jones, Tanya Lacey and Michelle John.

We can’t wait to see what Will does to our favourite telly haunts!
