Appearing via live link to the Corrie set, Holly and Phil told everyone it was Brooke before Holly revealed:
“We’ve had to unveil you first as you are the worst at keeping secrets!”
Phil then asked the actress why she wanted to take part in the show. Brooke replied:
“Good question – I love a challenge! I’m most impressed that next year I’ll be able to go [skating] with the girls and be like ‘I can do this, I can do that’ and they’ll be holding onto the sides.”
She then revealed she had started her training on Saturday and there were other people on the ice rink at the time and she was clinging to the sides while the small kids were gliding around the ice!
Speaking of her dancing ability, Brooke admitted: “I think I can dance, but I might be a bit like a bull in a china shop really!
“I’ve watched the show for years,” she continued. “I’ve always thought it would be so good to do it, and learn such a massive skill and dress in those outfits and have my hair all done. I’m so excited.”
Several of her Corrie co-stars including Samia Longchambon (Maria Connor) and Andy Whyment (Kirk Sutherland) have already taken part in the show and Holly and Phil wanted to know if they had given Brooke any advice.
“They’ve basically just said: ‘You’ll be fine, you’ll get used to it’. They keep telling me I need to soak my feet and keep my legs bent. It’s a massive thing to take on.”
It certainly is huge, and when Phil pointed out that ice skating is the most dangerous skill to pick up, Brooke replied: “Do you know what I’ve not actually thought about the injury side of it, which may be a good thing or a bad thing.”
But she had a great response to the idea she might get hurt: “If I get injured at least I’ll look sparkly on the way to the hospital!”
Brooke doesn’t know who her professional skating partner will be yet.
Fans of This Morning were a bit disappointed with the reveal though, claiming Brooke didn’t really seem all that excited about her new challenge.

The new line up has been slowly drip-fed to us over the last few weeks with Holly and Phil presenting, and Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean as judges alongside the returning Jason Gardiner.
The series has been off air for three years and it’s fair to say fans are thrilled that it’s coming back.
It’s set to hit our screens in January.
