Whenever a popular star leaves a soap, they spend the rest of their lives being asked the same question: are you going back?
Ex-Coronation Street actress Sally Lindsay appeared on Thursday’s edition of Good Morning Britain and was hassled by presenters Susanna Reid and Kate Garraway to answer the same question again.

Although Sally was actually on the show to promote the latest series of Sky comedy drama Mount Pleasant, it was the role she played 13 years ago that GMB producers were more interested in.
“You’ve done so many things, but it’s Coronation Street everyone insists on mentioning though,” said Susanna.
“I know, what do you do?” replied Sally. “After you walk those cobbles, that’s it.
“It’s been 13 years now and I’m still not going back!”
She then went on to reveal she’s been in Mount Pleasant for a lot longer than she’d been in Coronation Street, but it was still Weatherfield people were interested in.
It seemed even the fact she’d answered the question wasn’t then enough for the GMB producers as Susanna then put her finger to her ear piece and said:
“We’ve got our editor saying in our ear ‘ask about Corrie, ask about Corrie, please ask about Corrie’.”
Sally looked at the camera and said: “What do you want to know, love?”
“Are you going back in, but you’ve already answered that he just wasn’t listening!” Kate replied.
Setting the record straight once and for all, Sally told them: “I love Coronation Street it’s great, it sounds like I’m putting it down and I’m not, but it’s moved on, it’s a juggernaut that moves on.
“It was wonderful being there and I’ve got lifelong friends from that, but that was the past.”
After confirming she was filming another series of Still Open All Hours, Kate joked that she was too busy to go back to the Street anyway.

That’s that cleared up.
Though it is a shame, Sally played Rovers barmaid then landlady Shelley Unwin between 2001 and 2006. Some of her biggest storylines included marrying bigamist Peter Barlow, and living with abusive boyfriend Charlie Stubbs.
She departed the show pregnant with Charlie’s child, which gives plenty of opportunities for a juicy comeback storyline – though it’s not looking very likely.
