Cheryl Fergison fans hopefully won’t have to wait too long before seeing her in the spotlight again.
Most people know her for her portrayal of Heather Trott in EastEnders, before she was killed in a shocking whodunit storyline that left viewers devastated – and her son George without a mum.

In 2012, the character was killed off by Ben Mitchell in a tragic accident with a photo frame, with Cheryl saying she wanted to try new things.
The same year, Cheryl entered the Celebrity Big Brother house and became the second contestant to leave.
So she’s mastered acting and reality TV, as well as the theatre – she is currently touring with Menopause: The Musical – so what next?

Cheryl has announced her plans to become a music star after writing a number of songs which she hopes will be recorded one day.
In a post shared with her 1,419 Instagram followers, Cheryl explained: “I’ve written the songs and now just created the album cover… What do you think? I just need to record them… Any free studio time going anywhere?”
She added: “I would love to record the album in different cities I’m touring in at the moment… A song recorded in each country… Scotland, Ireland, England and Wales… I’m currently in Scotland… free studios?”

On Valentine’s Day, she also posted a video of herself singing Ben E. King’s Stand By Me with a guitar as she busked through the streets of Glasgow.
And she can certainly sing!
Last year, Cheryl told her 98,400 Twitter fans that she’d love to join another soap, saying: “It seems many of the soap watching public would like to see me on the cobbles or in the Dales… @itvcorrie @emmerdale @ITV… Worth considering if you are thinking of new characters?”
She added: “Heather was such a great character to play… Now it’s time I feel to create a new character… Time to see a completely different character in one of the other continuing dramas… @ITV @itvcorrie @emmerdale... What do you think my tweet folk?”

The divorced mum-of-one received plenty of support for her bid, with one saying: “Omg that would be so funny… A match made with Mary!!”
Another said: “Another long lost Dingle @emmerdale?? A welcome addition!”
