Comedian Joel Dommett has opened up about being bullied in school when he was younger.
The I’m A Celebrity runner-up revealed he was “bullied a lot” at school and was often beaten up by the same bully on a daily basis.
Joel, 31, has said he got the ultimate revenge on the bully after he got back in touch with the star years later.

The funnyman told The Sun’s TV Magazine: “I got bullied a lot at school but for no particular reason.
“Kids are just so brutal. This one guy used to beat me up all the time.
“Years later he got in touch and said: ‘Hey, how’s it going? Remember me?’ I replied: ‘Yeah, I remember that you used to punch me in the face a lot.’ Then he replied: ‘Oh yeah, but we were just kids, ha ha’.
“When I performed at a festival I got an audience of about 700 people to shout his name out over and over again, calling him a [bleep] and sent it to him on Twitter.
“That was very satisfying.”
The star has now gone on to be a comedy favourite with millions of fans.
In the chat Joel explained stand-up comedy changed his life.
He explained: “The day I started doing stand-up was the day that changed my life.
“So many people are scared to start stand-up. My first time was in Los Angeles when I went to visit a friend, but he got an acting job in Canada so he wasn’t there.
“I had no money and no car so I couldn’t get around.”
He continued: “There was a comedy club a couple of blocks away, so I used to go there every night.
“I went on stage pretending to be American, then revealed I was English. The week after, I did it again and it went terribly, but that started my obsession with it.”
Last year Joel’s hilarious personality managed to bag him second place on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here after losing out on the winning crown to former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt.
Speaking about his stint on the show, Joel admitted: “The whole time I was on I’m A Celebrity, I kept thinking: ‘They won’t let me die’ – even when I was on top of that building.
“You never feel unsafe. There’s a trials team who do all the trials before you, who were so nice, particularly this one tiny girl, and I thought: ‘If she can do it, I can do it’.”
As well as his career going strong Joel’s love life is going from strength to strength with girlfriend Hannah Cooper.
Speaking about how they first met Joel told Loose Women: “We met on Instagram. She sent me a cat emoji with the heart eyes.
“That is the modern equivalent of the old phrase ‘you had me at hello’, now it’s ‘you had me at cat emoji’.”

Gushing over his relationship with the blonde beauty Joel said: “It’s so wonderful, we are so happy. She’s very beautiful, I’m a very lucky lad.
“She’s very busy as well, weirdly it works out really well because she works all the time and I work all the time and we never see each other.
“I’ve dated people before where they have worked a 9 to 5 or something and it works better than a 9 to 5 because I work in the evenings so it works.”
