First Dates Fred Sirieix fiancée Fruitcake has shared an ‘excruciating’ diagnosis with her followers after a six-week social media absence.
Fruitcake, whose real name is still unknown, admitted she was ‘rushed to hospital by an ambulance’.
She has been in a public relationship with First Dates star Fred Sirieix since 2018, before getting engaged a year later. The couple were planning on getting married quite quickly, but due to the pandemic had to postpone.
Fruitcake opened up about her recent Bell’s Palsy diagnosis in a heartfelt statement on Instagram.

Alongside a series of images that show her face at different stages of the diagnosis, Fruitcake wrote a message to her followers.
She started by educating those who “may not know” the condition, explaining it causes “temporary weakness or paralysis on one side of the face.”
As for her own symptoms, Fred’s fiancée admitted she had “discomfort” in her ears and head.
Bell’s Palsy can easily be mistaken for a stroke, and so Fruitcake was “rushed to hospital for immediate care”. Now, she is still trying to manage “some ongoing issues like visual disturbances and aches” in her ears and jaw.
Despite the illness itself having a huge impact on her, Fruitcake admits what she has found most challenging.
She wrote: “One of the toughest challenges has been not recognising my reflection in the mirror, which has made me retreat from social situations.”
But as time goes on, she begins to look forward. The post continued: “Each day brings new blessings, and I have started to look like myself again.”
Fruitcake looks for the positives
Something the diagnosis has led to, is Fruitcake researching and spreading awareness for the illness – which she “hadn’t even heard of until now.”
Fruitcake expressed her gratitude and love for her friends and family, who she believes have “been incredible throughout this journey.”
Thankfully, Fruitcake’s recovery is “progressing faster” than she initially anticipated.
Fred Sirieix fiancée ended her post looking forward to 2025. She wrote: “As we approach the holiday season, I wish you all a lovely Christmas. I will be back soon to share my fashion finds, but in the meantime, please stay safe. And most importantly, healthy.”

The post has been flooded with well wishes and support from followers all over the world.
Not much is known about Fruitcake’s life away from Fred, as she has previously admitted she likes to keep that personal.
But the couple appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox together, and it was clear the adored each other.
