Gareth Gates ‘heartbroken’ over claims Faye Brookes has ‘grown close to hunky personal trainer’

She says they're just friends

They ended their engagement earlier this month and now Gareth Gates is reportedly enduring fresh heartache amid claims that his ex Faye Brookes has already moved on.

Faye was recently pictured leaving the gym with hunky personal trainer Joe Davies, something that Gareth hasn’t taken too well, according to sources.

The couple split after seven years together, with Gareth reportedly taking back the £30k engagement ring he presented Faye with in January.

Now a source has told The Sun that Gareth is “devastated” by Faye’s friendship with Joe.


They said: “Poor Gareth is absolutely heartbroken. He’s in pieces. Towards the end of their relationship, Faye started having mysterious late-night gym sessions and saying she was out with new gym pals.”

They added: “About five weeks ago they had a blazing row, and Gareth confronted Faye about Joe. He felt something wasn’t right, though she insisted they were friends.”

Although Faye did reveal she’d had a “really weird” week, she assured fans that she didn’t have a new boyfriend.

The Coronation Street star said: “I’ve been throwing myself into the gym pretty much every day, anyone who knows me knows how much I love training and keeping fit!”

She added: “So there was a pap outside the gym when I got there, taking pictures of me and getting very excited with his camera because I walked in with one of the trainers from the gym – who is a friend.”

She continued: “I imagine that suggestions could be made from these pics that there is more to this. There isn’t.”

Faye also pleaded: “Just let a girl be please.”

Be proud of yourself and your achievements because neither are going anywhere. Do what you want, when you want and make yourself happy. Set goals, chase dreams, do whatever it takes. An onlooker who claimed to have spotted Faye and Joe at the gym said: “They clearly didn’t want to be seen together because, as soon as they realised they were drawing attention, they jumped suddenly apart.”

Faye and Joe were also reported to have been “openly tactile” when they attended the launch of a new Manchester bar together with her friends.

The new reports come as Gareth denied Faye ended their relationship due to his controlling behaviour after it was reported that he wanted to manage her career post-Corrie.
