After their split was announced earlier this week, Gareth Gates has reportedly asked Faye Brookes to give him back the £30,000 engagement ring he proposed with.
Gareth got down on one knee back in January with the four-carat sparkler.
He is now said to have asked the ‘surprised’ Coronation Street star to return it.
Speaking to The Sun, a source revealed: “The split has been really upsetting for both parties. Gareth asked Faye to hand the ring over after they broke up.”

They added that the actress gave the ring back “without a fuss”.
The source revealed: “Faye was surprised but gave it back to him without a fuss.”
The couple had been dating on and off for seven years before getting engaged in January this year.

Both Gareth and Faye’s Instagram feeds are still littered with loved-up selfies of the former lovebirds.
Speaking about the split, a source close to the former couple told the Manchester Evening News: “Faye and Gareth are both extremely sad about their relationship ending.”
They added: “They still care very much about each other and want to remain friends, but the wedding has been called off. They tried to make it work but sadly it’s not meant to be.”
It’s a year of change for Corrie favourite Faye, who announced in April that she was set to leave the cobbles.
Her final scenes will be aired in the autumn.
It is also thought that Faye – who plays Kate Connor in the ITV soap – has cancelled her plans to move to London to pursue her career.
Thanks to everyone for your amazing support, but after 4 fabulous years in Weatherfield it’s time for me to explore new opportunities, I’ve loved playing Kate Connor, but she needs a break for a little while and so with a song in my heart I’m off to pastures new. #kana #corrie♥️
