Gary Barlow has issued an apology following a complaint over his recent gig at The Eden Project in Cornwall.
The Take That singer said he was sorry for ‘littering’ the conservation site with plastic confetti which was fired over the crowd during his finale.
He wrote: “Apologies to @edenproject for firing our confetti cannons. I hope this doesn’t mean we won’t be asked back? We’ve cancelled all ticker tape at outdoor shows because the reality is, beyond the effect it just turns into litter.”
The 47-year-old’s fans applauded his decision with some also offering him words of encouragement.
“It doesn’t turn into litter @GaryBarlow the army pick most of it up and take it home,” said one, to which he replied and retweeted, “lovely”.
Others told him most of it didn’t end up on the floor as they took it home with them when it became stuck to their clothes and even trapped between their cleavage!

“I shouldn’t worry too much Gary, I think most of it ended up in my bra!!!” one joked sharing a picture.
“I had this problem too!” another fan replied.
“Lol xxx,” Gary wrote back.

Others told him they deliberately kept the confetti as a souvenir, while several suggested he try using biodegradable material instead.

Gary was criticised by environmental campaigners in Cornwall following his gig to 6,500 people last week.
A spokesman for Cornwall Against Plastic urged the star to show remorse for what they described as an “epic blunder”.
The rep told Cornwall Live: “We call for an apology in the form of action from the singer, songwriter and producer. As a global voice, Gary Barlow has a responsibility.
“What on earth was he doing using plastic confetti canons at his gig?
“Especially in a county and beautiful place such as the Eden Project, who are working so hard at getting rid of single-use plastics, which as we know have devastating impacts on wildlife and environment.”
Gary is currently touring the country at numerous outdoor venues.

He recently wrote on Instagram how much he has enjoyed playing his solo hits to sell out crowds at beautiful venues.
“I can’t begin to tell you how much we’re all loving this tour,” he wrote. “The Band are truly magnificent – on and off the stage – We’re blessed with an amazing team around us – and always present, those amazing audiences who sing, dance and cheer every night. Thank you.”
