The pair welcomed their first son Chester back in January, and have both been enthusiastically posting family photos ever since.
Their photos usually show both parents and baby looking happy and comfortable – but as any parent will know, that’s not the whole story.
So Gaz took to Instagram to talk about the rest of the time, and praise his partner’s parenting skills in the process.
He stressed that the happy shots people usually see on Instagram are just a fraction of real life – and that there’s a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes.
He posted a shot of Emma lying on the floor, apparently exhausted. She wears slippers and a robe, with a half-full airing rack standing next to her.
“Wanted to post this…” Gaz said. “No glamorous insta pic, no cute baby pic as that is only 1 second of the day… real life…
“I am good with Chester but @emma_jane1392 is amazing – this is her literally just after getting Chester to sleep, she just lay down 😂….
“A lot of sacrifices being made going out seeing friends, but let me tell you when you see him laughing and giggling away it’s all worth it, especially for Emma…
“He is 6 months old on Monday. It’s been crazy but wanted to show the real side and say well done to her… 😘❤ Tag your mrs or an amazing mummy and show them some love because we might not think it but it’s f*cking hard 😂”
Emma also admitted to needing help – she posted a shot to Instagram stories that credited a paediatric sleep consultant with helping her establish a good routine with Chester.

The couple then celebrated their very first Father’s Day, both posted a selection of shots to Instagram stories marking the occasion.
Along with a few golf themed gifts, Gaz cooed over a matching t-shirt and onesie set for him and his son.
It may be exhausting at times, but halfway through their first year of parenthood, Gaz and Emma definitely seem to be making it work.
