Actress Gemma Atkinson has shared her thoughts on being judged as a new mum.
The former Emmerdale star posted a message on Instagram, which preached about mothers not passing judgement on one another.
The message read: “Mums, instead of judging each other, let’s support each other like we used to when we were single and drunk in club bathrooms.”
Gemma, who gave birth to daughter Mia on July 4, opened up about getting to grips with motherhood in her own way.
Gemma, 34, wrote alongside the post: “The brilliant book I’ve recently read about becoming a mum is called #BONKERS by @oliviasiegl and in it is a quote which says, ‘Advice is a bit like shoes. You don’t have room in your wardrobe for every pair. Some you won’t like, and some, which you think will be perfect for you, won’t fit at all. Most importantly, sometimes you will say to hell with it all and instead just walk barefoot.'”
The star continued by revealing she has been given advice she has found useful – and some hasn’t worked for her at all!

She said she is preferring to find her own way as a first-time mum.
Gemma explained: “Since having Mia I’ve been given loads of advice. Some which fits perfectly in my shoe room and some that didn’t even make it out of the shoe box! Seeing it this way has been extremely therapeutic.
“With so much advice flying around, I highly recommend mostly walking barefoot.”
