Love Island star Georgia Steel’s mum has appeared on Monday’s Lorraine to praise her daughter’s appearance on the ITV2 show.
Sharon said she and the 20-year-old’s father are “so proud” of how she has been in The Villa, showing loyalty to partner Josh Denzel, being a shoulder to cry on for the girls, and, of course, having fun inbetween.
But Sharon admitted she’s not been so impressed with Josh, 26, who has kissed Kaz Crossley in bed while the boys have been staying at Casa Amor.
Sharon was joined on Lorraine by last year’s winner Amber Davies, who said Georgia was “too good” for Josh and the drama student would have a “lucky escape” if she chose a new man in tonight’s re-coupling.
“I agree,” Sharon said.
She added that she’d prefer Georgia to couple up with new boy Jordan Adefeyisan, who said he liked her as soon as he arrived last week.
“Hopefully she will pick Jordan as he’s more the type she would go to,” Sharon said.

When asked if Georgia was more likely to stick with Josh or “twist” and pick a new man, Sharon replied: “She is a loyal person. The problem is, if she sees that photograph of Josh and Kaz in bed kissing, she will put her guard up and ‘twist’.”
She added that she would be happy if Georgia brought Jordan home as “if she’s happy, I’m happy”.
The mother admitted it has been hard watching her daughter’s heartache over Josh.
“She has never, ever been dumped so the experience is so, so new to her. To see my daughter on there so upset, I just want to cuddle her and protect her,” she said.
She revealed both she and her husband had been apprehensive about Georgia going on the reality show, but were told by the drama student’s teacher that it would be a good “stepping stone” for her career.
Now they couldn’t be prouder of their “fun, loving and natural” daughter, who she said is completely being herself on the show.
Meanwhile, EastEnders actor Danny Dyer has expressed similar feelings about his daughter, Dani, being on Love Island.
On Good Evening Britain last week, he admitted he hadn’t wanted her to go on the programme, but he’s proud of how she’s doing, especially as she’s a favourite to win.
He’s also tweeted of his pride and said how much he’s missing his “baby girl” while she’s in Majorca.
His wife, Jo, previously revealed the hardman “choked up” seeing Dani get upset on the show – after she initially feared her relationship with Jack Fincham wouldn’t work out.

It’s not known how he feels about the latest twist, in which Dani was heartbroken to discover Jack has been sharing a villa with his ex Ellie Jones.
Viewers have slammed the producers for upsetting her when Jack has remained loyal and declared he loves her.
