Geri Horner shares adorable first picture – and name – of newborn

Geri Horner has revealed the name of her newborn son. And it couldn’t be more Geri…

The former Spice Girl dropped the moniker, alongside an adorable picture, on Instagram:

Montague George Hector. What do you make of that, then? We’re assuming Geri is a fan of Shakespeare – Romeo & Juliet at the very least.

Montague is Romeo’s surname.

Or perhaps she is a fan of cult British film Withnail & I, and the character Uncle Monty!

The middle name George needs no explanation – it’s clearly in honour of her pal George Michael, who died on Christmas Day last year.

“Geri wanted George to be a part of Monty’s life, so she felt it only fitting that her newborn have a middle name after the star,” a source told the Daily Mirror.

What is it about newborns’ fingers and toes? It makes our ovaries explode!

The former Spice Girl shared news of her baby boy’s arrival earlier today on Twitter.

She posted: “Christian and I are delighted to announce our baby boy was born this morning weighing 7lbs 8oz.”

The news comes less than a day after Geri posted a picture of herself and her baby bump on Instagram, with the simple message “Hello.”

While it is Geri’s second child, following the birth of her daughter Bluebell Madonna in 2006, it is her first with husband Christian Horner, who she married in 2015.

It appears that the new member of the family also shares his birthday with Geri’s former bandmate Emma Bunton.

Hours earlier, Geri posted a picture of the pair in their Spice Girl days in a special happy birthday tribute.

Emma, who was Baby Spice in the band, responded with the Tweet: “Amazing news, so happy! #birthdaytwins #birthdaymade love you all. Xxx”
