It’s always exciting when a new family arrives in a soap, especially when they promise to be a bunch of trouble makers.
Not since the arrival of the Slater family in EastEnders a million years ago has there been so much excitement about a new family arriving in Walford.
And there are many reasons why we are excited about the Taylor family becoming part of EastEnders soap history.
For one the motley crew have been compared to the Battersbys when they first appeared on Coronation Street twenty years ago – i.e., they’re a little bit rough and very much on the crude side.
Secondly one of the Taylor kids is played by Danny Walters, the beefcake hunk from Benidorm who recently flashed his pecs on the cover of Gay Times magazine.

So lots to look forward to. But the question is – when can we finally lay eyes on this dodgy looking clan?
Well, folks, mark your diaries for Thursday 15 June, cos that’s when they rock up to the Square.
So who are the The Taylors?
The dodgy clan is made up of loudmouth single mum Karen – played by Lorraine Stanley – Keanu (Danny), sister Bernadette (Clair Norris) and brothers Riley and Chatham played by real life siblings Tom and Alfie Jacobs.
Speaking recently about the new family, show producer Sean O’Connor said the Taylors are about to set the cat among the pigeons.
“I’m hugely excited at the arrival of Karen and her family in Albert Square. They’re noisy, brash and not to be messed with,” he said.
“Karen is a twenty-a-day lioness, bringing up her kids with no support, no money and a very loud mouth.
“But though they may lack cash, the Taylors have love and warmth in spades.
“This summer is going to be explosive as the Taylors settle in Walford. The Square will never be quite the same again.”
Speaking about playing battle axe Karen, actress Lorraine says she is thrilled to part of the soap.
“I’m chuffed to be cast in such an iconic show that I’ve grown up watching,” she gushed. “Working with my new family is really quite special, and I’m proud to play their mum.”
Meanwhile, sexy Danny said he has really felt at home on set: “Having only been filming EastEnders for a few weeks, I feel so privileged to already feel a part of the team.
“Everyone has been so friendly and kind and gone above and beyond to make us feel welcome and supported.
“There has been a huge buzz surrounding the new family and I am so excited to see what the future holds for The Taylors.

“Keanu is very grateful to live at Number 3 Albert Square and will try his very best not to disturb the peace in the Square.”
Clair says Bernadette will be her first major role and she can’t quite believe her luck.
“I’m so excited to go on a journey with my character Bernadette, and to be a part of the Taylor family,” she explained.
“I never in a million years thought my first TV role would be in EastEnders.
“It’s surreal but I’m ever so grateful to be given the opportunity and I can’t wait to see the audience’s reaction to us.”
Remember, tune in on 15 June for the arrival of Storm Taylor!
