Having been on our tellies for almost 60 years, it’s little wonder that Coronation Street is so popular with so many people.
But the soap has a new mega-fan who is the most unlikely Corrie devotee you could ever imagine.
Will.I.Am.

Yes, the US music producer and rapper has revealed that he is obsessed with the gritty northern soap.
In fact, he is such a fan of the show that he wants its writers to dream up a role for him to play.
But unlike most big star names, he says he doesn’t want to be a super cool so-and-so or a devious bad boy.
He wants to play more of a lighter comedic role – like Norris!
“It would be so cool if they would write a role for me on Coronation Street,” he has revealed.
“I wouldn’t play a gentleman though. I’d want to be a comedy character. I’d be comedic. I’d want to be like Norris!”
He added that he’d also like a bit of a love interest to keep his character happy.
“It’s such a great show. I could have a relationship with somebody on there… that would be real cool.”
Although Norris is usually poking his nose into people’s affairs at the Kabin, Will says he’d rather be working behind the bar at the Rovers.
His love for the Street gripped him after he visited the soap set with the other judges from The Voice earlier this year.
It was there that he met and became pals with Beverley Callard, who plays Rovers barmaid Liz McDonald.
Will loved the experience of walking around the legendary soap set that he begged Corrie bosses to let him shoot the video for his song Fiyah.
The video, which was released last week, sees him performing in The Rovers Return surrounded by an army of dancers before heading out on to the cobbles where flames rage.
So could Will.I.Am land himself a role on the show?
Well, stranger things have happened.
In the past, Corrie bosses haven’t been shy in wooing big-name stars to join the cast.

Sir Ian McKellen, Peter Kay and Nigel Havers have all played roles on the Street and proved to be viewer favourites.
However, not every casting choice has worked.
When Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding joined the show, fans weren’t exactly blown away with her acting skills and she left the show pretty swiftly.
