Gordon Ramsay is delighted his children are to follow in his footsteps by running the London Marathon.
The chef’s twins, Holly and Jack, announced their plans to take part in the 26.2 mile event on Instagram, and it is something of an 18th birthday present to themselves!
They reached the milestone age this year, and as a result, they are now old enough to take part in the long distance event.
Their proud dad, who is a veteran marathon runner and has also completed Ironman races, shared the news with his Instagram followers, alongside a picture of the twins holding 18th birthday balloons.
He wrote: “Really proud of @jackramsay1999 and @hollyramsayy… 18 and running their first #londonmarathon !! Head to the link in my bio to support #teamramsay and @greatormondst.”
His fans wished the pair luck as they raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
“Good for em’! Good luck!” one said. “Hopefully they won’t beat your time,” another cheekily told the chef.
“Luckiest kids in the world to have such an amazing, inspirational dad,” said a third.
But it’s not just Gordon, 51, who has inspired their sporting endeavours. Their mum, Tana, 43, has also run the marathon numerous times, while their older sister, Megan, 20, ran last year, also for Great Ormond Street.
After growing up cheering their parents and sister on, it’s perhaps no surprise the twins were keen to take on the challenge themselves as soon as they were old enough.
It’ll just leave the couple’s youngest daughter, Matilda, 16, to take it on one day and the family will have a full set of marathon medals!
Holly first revealed their intentions on Instagram a few days ago when she wrote: “Very excited to announce that Jack and I are taking part in this year’s London Marathon @londonmarathon!
“I would be very grateful if you would donate to a good cause, Great Ormond Street Hospital the link is in my bio, each donation will help change a child’s life. I’m running this in memory of Rocky, love and miss you always @greatormondst#teamramsay.”
Rocky was the name Gordon and Tana gave the son they sadly lost in June 2016 when Tana miscarried at five months pregnant.

The race will be something of a baptism of fire for the twins, as this year’s London Marathon is predicted to be the hottest for a decade as the UK finally enjoys some unseasonable warm weather.
Celebrities on the start line include Rochelle Humes, Katie Price, Joel Dommett and Chris Evans. Meanwhile Sir Mo Farah will be going for a British record at the front of the field.
