Strictly’s Greg Rutherford celebrates son Rex’s first birthday with unfortunate photo

His long-term girlfriend Susie spotted the faux pas!

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Greg Rutherford is today celebrating his youngest son Rex’s first birthday.

But after posting a cute snap of his cute tot on Instagram, Greg’s long-term partner Susie Verill pointed out a slight faux pas!

In the shot, little Rex is sat on the floor with a bare chest and a very cute smile.

However, just in the background is something Susie would rather Greg’s 150,000 fans would not have seen…

Commenting on the photo, Susie joked: “Love the Insta-friendly discarded nappy behind him. Just setting up that stylistic shot 😂 x.”

Whoops!

Olympic champion long jumper Greg and magazine journalist-turned-mummy blogger Susie have marked Rex’s special day by sharing some rather adorable throwback pictures of their son with fans.

And it’s fair to say the couple, who are also parents to three-year-old son Milo, make very adorable babies!

Taking to her own Instagram account, Susie posted a sweet photograph taken moments after Rex was born one year ago.

Greg – who took part in the 2016 series of Strictly – is dressed in scrubs, as his son had made his arrival via a c-section, and Susie has told her followers that she “felt amazing” at the time.

Captioning the gorgeous photo, the mum-of-two said: “Born 11.46am, we had the rest of the day to enjoy our new friend and I genuinely felt amazing.”

Joking, she added: “Us: ‘Is this a flattering angle?’ Midwife: ‘Oh definitely!'”

Last month, Greg confirmed that he is to retire at the end of the season after a very successful long-jumping career.

He told the Guardian: “I’ll be 32 later this year. I don’t want to be the old man on the team who is making up the numbers. I want people to remember me for the good times.”

But speaking about the sporting world he is leaving behind, he added: “It’s probably a sign of the times that more people want to talk to me about Strictly Come Dancing than athletics.”
