It’s that really exciting time of year when everybody just CAN’T wait to hear the X Factor single. Not.
The song is normally a cover, and the show try their hardest to make it the Christmas number one.
As last year’s song was a bit of a flop – Louisa Johnson covered Bob Dylan’s Forever Young – this time they are shaking it up!
According to reports, bosses are hoping to get award-winning singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran to write the tune.

A source told The Sun: “Everything Ed does turns to gold. To have him write the winner’s song is huge and amazing news for this year’s winner.
“All the remaining contestants have heard the track and it works for the majority.
“They can’t believe potentially their first ever single will be written by Ed.”
However, the insider has said that if either Honey G or boy band 5 After Midnight win, the song perhaps won’t work for them.
We can’t really see Honey G rapping an Ed Sheeran song.
The source added: “The only chance his song won’t get used is if 5 After Midnight or Honey G pull off a shock win. Then bosses might need to consider another one of their options.”
The track is believed to be typically Ed, an acoustic ballad-style song.

Since Simon Cowell’s singing talent show kicked off 12 years ago, every single winner – bar Louisa – has topped the charts with their single. Poor Louisa.
The three biggest sellers were Shayne Ward with That’s My Goal – an original – in 2005 with 1.11 million sold, James Arthur’s Impossible in 2012 with 1.294 million and Alexandra Burke’s Hallelujah in 2088 with 1.297 million copies.
