Harry Potter star in intensive care after horrific car crash

The star is "fighting his way out of" it

Harry Potter star Jim Tavare, who played Tom the Innkeeper in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, is in intensive care following a head-on collision car crash.

The star suffered multiple injuries including 15 broken ribs, a broken neck and a punctured lung during the horrifying accident on Monday.

The comedian has undergone two blood transfusions and is currently being treated in hospital.

His wife Laura shared a picture of the actor looking battered and bruised and hooked up to all sorts of machines, showing the full extent of his injuries.

Despite the seriousness of the damage, the 54-year-old star bravely gave a thumbs up for the camera.

Alongside the image, Laura wrote: “Now that his family have been informed, Jim has asked me to let you all know that he was involved in a serious car accident yesterday, a head on collision.”

She added: “He’s currently in ICU intensive care.

“He has 15 broken ribs, fractures in both breastbones, a punctured lung, multiple breaks in his right leg, and a broken neck.

“He’s had 2 blood transfusions so far and is about to go in for his first surgery.

“This is for real, not a movie role.”

She ended the caption with: “Please hold some good thoughts for him as he fights his way out of this.”

Fans quickly took to Twitter to wish Jim a speedy recovery.

One wrote: “Just heard the awful news about @jimtavare. Sending best wishes for his recovery.”

Ian Davies said: “@jimtavare Sorry to hear about your accident. Get well soon from a fellow bass player.”

“Terrible news I just read. Keeping Jim Tavare in my thoughts today. Get well soon,” a third tweeted.
