Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has made a dignified response to fans who have attacked her over her approach to parenting.
The 28-year-old came under fire from abusive trolls who ripped on her for choosing to feed solids to five-month-old daughter Delilah, insisting it was too early for the infant.
Six months is the age the NHS recommends for babies to start weaning.
But Helen, refusing to be mum-shamed, has defended her decision and laid out her reasoning to the mums who had a go at her.

The mum-of-two also explained she had struggled with weaning eldest daughter Matilda, now three.
Expressing her shock at the vitriolic messages she has received, Helen said: “I like to be honest and open on my Instagram, I like to share my real experiences and it’s great if I can help other mums!”
She continued: “I’m not an expert but I do think each baby is different. Matilda was walking at 11 months and some little ones take longer with that but she wasn’t great with her food.
“I suppose they all go at their own pace.”

The Rosie Webster star also explained she was keeping recommendations in mind when giving Delilah specialised fruit puree and noted she was still breastfeeding, too.
“I am still feeding her myself and will do as long as she needs,” Helen added.
“What works for me won’t work for someone else. It doesn’t make you a better mum whatever your choice of feeding.”
Requesting people lay off the mum-shaming, Helen also called on fellow mothers to support each because they know how difficult it is to raise children.
“I do think as mums we’re all in it together, we should support each other, it’s not a competition,” she continued in the post’s caption.
“We’re all just trying our best really, no one is perfect and we should uplift each other as women as it’s the best job but not always the easiest.”
Despite the negativity from some fans, many other mums offered Helen supportive comments.
“You really don’t have to justify yourself lovely,” replied one fan.
“I have my own views and opinions on weaning babies and weaning age, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to bash other parents because their beliefs are different!”
Another said: “Fair play to you because I got a lot of negativity when I fed my daughter at the same age but she needed it as she wasn’t keen on bottles.
“You’re doing a fab job and your girls are beautiful.”
And a third commented: “A mother/father knows their children better than anyone else.
“Do what’s best for your family, ignore the negative comments.”
