Okay, so it’s bad enough giving birth in normal of circumstances.
You’re either lying on your back with you legs splayed or on all fours, sweating and breathless and in excruciating pain.
But just imagine if you had to try to pop a baby out on the kitchen floor with an audience of broad burly men looking on.
Well, spare a thought for floating TV presenter Helen Skelton who experienced just that!

When she gave birth to her second son Louis on April 8, she had to endure a rather embarrassing birthing procedure – surrounded by a bunch of local firemen.
Speaking to Hello magazine, the occasional Lorraine stand in explained that when she got back to her house from a walk with her son Ernie near her home in Perpignan, France – where she and her husband Richie Myler live – she discovered she was in labour.
Because she had been in labour for two days with her first son Ernie, she initially didn’t panic, but got on the phone to Richie – who was in the UK – and told him to get back to France ASAP!
However, before too long the labour progressed a lot faster than she had anticipated and she ended up on the kitchen preparing to give birth and trying to call for an ambulance.
But first on the scene wasn’t a well equipped team of medic – instead in walked a bunch of firemen – probably looking for a pussy cat in distress.
“I’m still not really sure why the fire brigade arrived but it seems they were the closest emergency service at the time,” she explained.
“The firefighters were lovely and beside themselves with excitement as they said they hadn’t been at a birth before, but bless them they weren’t up to speed with what you do so they were all flapping.
“It was all a bit frantic. We are just so relieved he is safely here.”
Sadly, Richie didn’t make it back to France in time for the exciting moment, but said he was “so proud” of his wife for managing to get through without him.
Now they are safely back home with heir two little boys, Helen says she is simply blissful.

“People talk about the early baby bubble, but it really is like that, we feel like we are on happy pills” she gushed.
“Two is a game changer though. I think it’s going to be chaos!”
